Book Club
Stories invite us into lives and experiences beyond our own. They can deepen our understanding of the world, challenge our assumptions, and help us see ourselves and our neighbors with greater compassion.

Our Book Club gathers about once a quarter to read and discuss a book together. We read both fiction and nonfiction, exploring stories and perspectives that invite thoughtful conversation about the world we inhabit and the life we share.
Recent selections have included Lovely One: A Memoir by Ketanji Brown Jackson, Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henríquez, and Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel.
A member of our Ministry Stewardship Group facilitates the gatherings and arranges for library copies of each book for those who wish to participate. Our conversations are open, curious, and welcoming, with room for different perspectives and experiences.
Everyone is welcome, whether you are a longtime member of East County, new to our community, or simply someone who enjoys reading and discussing good books.
