Church
The church is a community gathered by Jesus to share in his life and bear witness to his love. In our local congregation and in the wider body of Christ, we seek to live together in ways that reflect the communion God has established in Jesus Christ.

The church exists because God has acted in Christ to reconcile the world. We do not create this communion through our own efforts. Rather, we are invited to receive it and learn to live in its light.
This calling takes shape in the ordinary life of our congregation. How we share our resources, exercise leadership, navigate disagreements, welcome strangers, celebrate together, and care for our neighbors are all part of our witness. In these things, we seek to follow the way of Jesus, whose life was marked not by the pursuit of power or status, but by humility, generosity, forgiveness, and self-giving love.
We do not always succeed. Yet we trust that Christ continues to gather us, correct us, and renew us, teaching us to become more fully the community we have been called to be.
Our congregation is only one small part of the wider body of Christ. The church belongs to Jesus Christ, not to any particular congregation, tradition, or denomination. We do not presume to know the full extent of Christ’s body or to determine who belongs to it.
We believe every person is beloved by God, and we rejoice wherever people seek to embody the way of Jesus, both individually and together. Across differences of creed, tradition, and denomination, we welcome such people as beloved sisters and brothers in Christ.
