Our Ministry Neighbors
Our life together extends beyond the gatherings of our own congregation. We share our campus with neighbors engaged in education and worship, and members of our church participate in ministries serving the wider community.
These relationships offer opportunities to learn from one another, serve alongside others, and take part in the good work already happening around us.

Tree of Knowledge Preschool
Located in a separate building on our campus, Tree of Knowledge Preschool offers a nurturing environment where young children can learn, explore, and grow. Several members of East County serve on its teaching staff, including one who serves as co-director. A member of Sal y Luz, the Spanish-speaking congregation that also shares our campus, serves on the teaching staff as well.

Compassion Connect
Compassion Connect brings churches and community partners together to serve neighbors facing difficult circumstances. Its work includes free healthcare, community outreach, and other forms of practical support. Members of East County are particularly involved in Compassion Clinics, which provide free medical and dental care, along with other services, to people in our community. Several of our members also help lead these clinics.
East County Aid and Comfort
East County Aid and Comfort provides food, clothing, and other practical support to neighbors experiencing housing insecurity in East Multnomah County. Based in our church building and led by Frani Grover, the ministry brings volunteers and houseless neighbors together each week to prepare food in our kitchen and distribute it throughout the community. Many members of East County participate in this work, including several who serve on its board.

Backpack Buddies & Angels in the Outfield
Backpack Buddies and Angels in the Outfield offer practical care and encouragement to children and families facing difficult circumstances. Backpack Buddies helps address food insecurity among children, while Angels in the Outfield supports children affected by crime, abuse, and neglect, offering resources and opportunities for healing and hope. Members of East County help lead and organize quarterly efforts to prepare packages in support of these ministries, joining others in caring for children and families in our wider community.
Community Gardens
Two community gardens on our campus provide space for growing food, cultivating relationships, and sharing the harvest. Love Community Garden is tended by members of East County, with produce shared among members of our congregation and donated to SnowCap Community Services.
Our second garden, established in 2010 in partnership with Grow Portland, provides 10,000 square feet of growing space for our neighbors. Managed by Outgrowing Hunger, the garden offers opportunities to grow fresh food and build community.

Part of the broader Ministerios Llamada Final, the congregation is led by Pastor Ismael Gamino and meets for Sunday worship at 2:00 PM.
