Our Commitments
Our commitments express how we seek to live together—with one another, with our neighbors, and with the land on which we gather. They are promises we make with humility, knowing that we will not always fulfill them perfectly, but trusting that God’s grace continues to shape our life together.

Inclusion
At East County, we believe every person is a beloved child of God. We celebrate the God-given diversity of the human family, embracing people of every sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, ethnicity, race, ability, marital status, and age.
You are loved exactly as you are. You belong here, and we welcome you to share fully in the life of our community.
Land Acknowledgement
We respectfully acknowledge that the land on which we gather is part of the traditional homelands of Indigenous peoples, land taken from them, often by force and sometimes in the name of God.
The land on which East County gathers is part of the ancestral homelands of the Cowlitz and Upper Chinook peoples. We recognize Indigenous peoples as the traditional stewards of this land and honor their enduring relationship with it.
We offer this acknowledgement as an expression of remembrance, respect, and our commitment to recognizing the Indigenous peoples who remain part of our community today.
Our Communication Covenant
Living together in community calls for patience, humility, and care. Our Communication Covenant and its companion guide, Living the Covenant, offer a framework for navigating our relationships with honesty, generosity, and grace. Both are living documents that will continue to grow and change as we learn together.
